The Givati Brigade entered Gaza six days ago, at the beginning of the ground offensive phase of Operation Protective Edge.

The infantry brigade - which is working to destroy Hamas terror tunnels, along with the Paratroopers Brigade, the Armored Corps, and the Engineering Corps - became the special focus of IDF footage released Wednesday, following the soldiers in the midst of their mission to uncover shafts and tunnels.

Two terror tunnels were uncovered during the footage shown, and Givati soldiers stated that at least one of them was crucial to transporting Hamas terrorist cells covertly.

So far, Givati has uncovered 17 separate shafts since the ground offensive began.

Givati has also arrested dozens of Hamas terrorists over the past week, including 16 in a 24-hour period.

However, this is only start of a long mission ahead for the IDF, as Givati Brigade commander, Colonel Gen. Ofer Vinter noted, "we still have a lot to do."
