A lawyer from Nazareth was suspended in recent days from participating in the government's Public Defense, after he praised a Koranic teaching about killing Jews on his Facebook page.
According to Channel 2, Advocate Adnan Aldin referred to a "hadith" – a prophetic saying by Mohammed – according to which in the end of days, the Muslims shall kill the Jews. “Before Allah brings the material world to an end,” he wrote, “the Muslims will fight the Jews, until the rock that the Jew hides behind will call out to the Muslim, 'there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.'”
Aldin wrote the post in Hebrew and Arabic and added: “Does anyone still have the gall to deny the truthfulness of this hadith?”
Aldin reportedly runs an independent law office but is sometimes employed by the Public Defense as a contractor. He defended his post to Channel 2: “This is a vision and not a call to kill Jews,” he claimed. “I am an external contractor in the Public Defense. Must I change my religion?”
"The state receives money from me and takes taxes from me,” he added, according to the report. “For all I care, you can give back the land you stole and occupied and get the hell out of here. I don't need the Justice Ministry's dirty money. Do you want me to forsake my religion for money?”
The Northern District of the Public Defense said that since it became aware of the Facebook post, all of the cases that Aldin was handling for the Public Defense have been taken from him, and that the entire matter is being looked into.
