Two Hurt in Samaria Muslim Riots
Dozens of rioting Muslims hurled rocks at cars and burned tires Tuesday morning in Hawara, near Tapuach Junction in Samaria. Two Israeli citizens were lightly injured and two vehicles were damaged.
The road was closed off for some time as security forces went into operation.
A Border Policeman was lightly injured before dawn Tuesday at the Tapuach Junction, when a terrorist approached the Border Police position there and opened fire. The other policemen fired at the terrorist and eliminated him.
First Sergeant D., commander of the checkpoint, who charged at the terrorist and shot him, said that a report was received from a civilian, about a suspicious person milling about near the hitchhiking station, next to the checkpoint. I sent the soldier to check the suspect and then I identified him firing at us. Myself and a Nahal Brigade combat soldier charged at the terrorist and neutralized him.”
