Alert yeshiva students prevented a bomb attack in Samaria (Shomron) on Monday.

The students noticed a bomb that had been planted outside Homesh, an Israeli community that was demolished in the 2005 Disengagement and was recently turned over to the Palestinian Authority.

The bomb was hidden in a pile of rocks next to the main road adjacent to the community. It was apparently intended to harm either an IDF patrol or one of the Israeli drivers who continue to visit the area.

The students alerted the IDF and moved away from the explosive. Soldiers demolished the bomb in a controlled explosion, and searched the area for the would-be attackers. The IDF has not yet reported arrests in the case.

The attempted bombing follows an attack Monday in which a bomb was thrown at the Israeli community of Elon Moreh, in Samaria, and an attempted attack Saturday night in which two Palestinian Arab terrorists were caught outside the Israeli town of Einav with firebombs.
