Danon on Stabbing: Stop Freeing Terrorists Now
Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon (Likud) called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Wednesday to stop terrorist releases once and for all. The call follows the fatal stabbing of a soldier by a Palestinian Authority (PA) Arab terrorist in the Central Bus Station at Afula, in northern Israel.
The terrorist, a 16 year old from Jenin who was in Israel illegally, reportedly stabbed the 18 year old soldier on a bus repeatedly as he was sleeping. The soldier later died of his critical wounds.
Danon, after calling on Netanyahu to end terrorist releases that have been agreed to as a "gesture" for peace talks, added that the talks "are deluding the Israeli public and the Arabs. We must immediately stop this predictable collision course."
This most recent terrorist attack comes after a string of terror which immediately followed US Secretary of State John Kerry's threats of an intifada terror war last Thursday.
Last Friday Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, leaders of the Women in Green movement, said they hold Kerry responsible for the recent attacks, while MK Orit Struk (Jewish Home/Bayit Yehudi) wrote to Kerry the same day saying "thanks to you and your efforts, the intifada is already here."
In late October, around the time of the release of a second batch of 26 terrorists, Danon warned that the "gesture" encourages terror and endangers Israelis. He added “I can’t imagine that any sane country, including the United States of America, would free terrorists after attacks."
