Security forces prevented a stabbing attack in Samaria Saturday afternoon.

The Judea and Samaria District Police said that at 5:40 p.m. on Shabbat, the IDF reported that two Arabs approached the Hava 5 checkpoint and were frisked. They were found to be carrying knives.

The men are aged 20 and 19, and hail from Shechem.

The two admitted that they had intended to stab the first Jew they encountered.

They have been locked up and the investigation is ongoing.

In late April, an Arab terrorist armed with a knife stabbed a Jewish man at the Tapuach junction in Shomron (Samaria).

Magen David Adom teams arrived at the scene and tried to revive the victim, Evyatar Borovsky, a 31-year-old Israeli father of five from Yitzhar, but pronounced him dead on the spot.
