Around 100 people took part in a demonstration outside the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv on Sunday to demand the resignation of Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"Erdogan resign", "Democracy for Turkey", chanted the protesters, many of them Israelis of Turkish origin, in the demonstration at which no incidents were reported, the AFP news agency reported.

Turkey has been the scene of demonstrations in dozens of cities nationwide, in the biggest public outcry against Erdogan's government since it assumed power in 2002.

Protests in Taksim Square hit an estimated 10,000 people on Sunday as people again streamed into the area, many waving flags and chanting "victory, victory, victory".
