The Chairman of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Avigdor Lieberman, said at the start of the committee's session Tuesday that the “radical axis” in the Middle East “has crossed all of the red lines lately.”
Regarding reports that chemical weapons have been used by Syrian president Bashar Assad, Lieberman said, “There is no longer any question that Assad has used chemical weapons.”
"Iran is hurtling toward a nuclear bomb at a crazy pace, and Hizbullah, too, is crossing the red lines in that it possesses weapons that can strike anywhere within Israel,” he added.
IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, told the committee, “We are working on several tracks simultaneously. The first is the use of operational force in the different arenas, and the second is the building of force, under the budgetary restraints.”
