Golden Dawn Supporters Disrupt New York Film Screening
Supporters of the Greek neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party shouted death threats as they were ousted from a Greek-American documentary screening in New York.
According to the Greek Reporter, the supporters attempted to disrupt the screening of the film, with the use of a megaphone in a post-film discussion, shouting “Commies, you will die!” as they were pushed and shoved out the door.
The incident occurred on Saturday at the Stathakion Cultural Centre in Astoria, during the screening of “Greek-American Radicals: The Untold Story”, a historical documentary about the journey of Greek-American radicalism, according to news source.
The neo-Nazi party, which gained 7 percent of the vote in the country’s June national election, recently opened a branch in New York “to promote and support the Golden Dawn’s nationalist ideals and vision for Greece among the Greek diaspora.”
The party has become notorious for its blatantly anti-Semitic and xenophobic beliefs, as well as its attacks on foreigners.
