International high-tech company Ciena has announced the launch of its new OPⁿ network architecture, which is aimed at bringing a solution to bandwidth challenges.

As more people connect to networks, bandwidth demand inevitably increases, causing slowdowns. OPⁿ bends the cost curve down, decreasing the cost of networking while increasing bandwidth.

Ciena representatives were in Israel this week, as the company plans to focus its efforts on the Israeli market.

“Israel is an exciting market for us and that’s why we’re here,” said Mervyn Kelly, Ciena’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Marketing Director. “Israel is also a hotbed of innovation with lots of start-ups. Obviously, we have a number of customers here already and we would like more customers.”

“We’re targeting both the service providers and the enterprise market here with this architectural vision,” he added. “We brought our marketing truck here with all our latest products on it, so this isn’t just slides or PowerPoint. We have the solutions today to implement this, and that’s why were in Israel.”
