The National Authority for Road Safety issued instructions Sunday for Israelis who intend to stop their vehicles and stand at attention when the siren sounds at 8:00 p.m. to mark Remembrance Day for the IDF's Fallen Soldiers.

A one-minute siren will sound throughout Israel.

On Tuesday morning, another siren, this time two minutes long, will sound.

The Authority notes that "The sirens sound at fixed times that are known in advance and it is recommended to plan to stop about 10 minutes before the siren sounds, at an authorized parking lot, a gas station or a parking bay, and wait there.

"If an authorized parking location cannot be found, please slow down and stop on the right side of the road or on the shoulder, in whatever way possible."

The authority added that a car stopping at the side of the road should turn on flashing emergency lights, turn off the engine, take the keys out of the ignition, get as far away from the vehicle as possible and stand behind a barrier or fence.

"For pedestrians who have a need to cross a road," the Authority said, "it is recommended to do so in accordance with the rules for correct crossing, even during the siren."
