Ronen Moas, the CEO of computer security firm Comsecure, told Arutz Sheva Sunday that common sense and an updated anti-virus program should suffice for staying safe despite the current hacker attack on Israel.
The main effect of attacks on websites is one of demoralization, he said. As for attacks through Facebook – people should beware messages that invite them to watch a video that includes a celebrity. When they click the link, their computer has been compromised and can be used by the hackers for further attacks, including access to national infrastructure.
The person whose computer is attacked in this way will not necessarily know that his computer has been compromised.
