Gaza terrorists attacked for a second time in 24 hours on Wednesday morning, firing two rockets at the city of Sderot in southern Israel. The Color Red rocket alert siren warned of the incoming attack.

Both rockets hit open areas and did not cause injury.

On Tuesday terrorists in Gaza fired a mortar shell at Israel. The IDF responded with the first airstrikes in Gaza since Operation Pillar of Defense ended in November.

In addition, a shell was fired from Syria at the Golan region. The IDF responded by destroying the source of fire.

“We see Hamas as responsible for anything fired from Gaza at Israel,” warned Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon. “We will not allow in any way a return to the routine of sporadic rocket attacks on our citizens and forces.”

“In the Golan Heights, too, our policy is that we have no intention of ignoring fire from Syria into Israeli territory, whether intentional or not,” Yaalon said.

“We will respond decisively. The moment we identify the source of fire we will destroy it without hesitation, as we did yesterday and as we have done in previous cases,” he added.
