A baby is in critical condition following a collision that appears to have been caused by a terror attack near Ariel. Her mother and two sisters are in serious and moderate condition. Arabs threw rocks at vehicles at the Gitai Avisar Junction, where the crash took place, but there are different reports as to how precisely the accident took place.

The mother was in a car with her daughters, aged about 6, 4 and one year old. The casualties were trapped in the car for a relatively long time after it crashed into a truck from behind.

All four casualties have reportedly been taken to Beilinson Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the car's driver lost control of the vehicle when Arabs threw rocks at it, and it crashed into the truck. Rocks were also thrown at a bus, as an MDA photo from the scene shows.

Yonatan, a paramedic at Hatzala Gush Dan, told Arutz Sheva: "The accident apparently took place because a truck stopped at the side of the road due to the rock attacks, and the private vehicle hit the truck for reasons that are not yet known.

"A mother and her daughters, including a year-old baby, were trapped in the private vehicle. We provided treatment and after a protracted extrication, MDA and IDF teams evacuated them to the hospital, with the year-old baby's condition being termed critical. The mother and another girl, aged 4, are in moderate to serious condition, and another girl, 6, is in moderate condition."

Samaria Regional Authority Head Gershon Mesika said after the attack that "the twisted policy that insists upon not seeing rock attacks as terror, but rather as rioting, is completely immoral. I the last two months, rock attacks have become more frequent, and there has been no response because of the limitations that politicians place upon the IDF. It is time to understand this: rocks can kill. Rock throwing should be treated solely as terror."
