The Shomron community of Itamar is progressing with construction of a permanent synagogue for the local residents. The synagogue will be dedicated in memory of the terror victims who were killed in terror attacks in the town.

As part of the fund raising efforts in benefit of the construction of the synagogue, the Itamar municipality brought businessman Yaakov Luxembourg to visit the area and learn about the history and legacy of Itamar. Luxembourg, owner of the Lapidot oil and drilling company, was fascinated and he decided to recruit his fellow businessmen from the Tel Aviv area. Together with the Company for the Development of Itamar, Luxembourg organized an evening in the heart of Tel Aviv to raise funds for Itamar.

Those present at the event included Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv & Former Chief Rabbi of Israel; Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall; MK Nissan Slomiansky of Bayit Yehudi; Major General (Res.) Uzi Dayan; Gershon Mesika, Head of the Shomron Regional Council, as well as businessmen and members of the settlement movement.
