The IDF and other security forces are on high alert Monday in Judea and Samaria, ready to react to any violence that accompanies the funeral of a terrorist prisoner who died in an Israeli jail.

Thousands took part in the funeral of the prisoner, Arafat Jaradat, who died on Saturday at Megiddo prison. The funeral was held at his village, Sa'ir, near Hevron.

Voice of Israel public radio said that at nearby Beit Anun, hundreds of Arabs gathered and hurled rocks at security forces. The security forces countered the rioting with riot dispersal gear.

There were rock throwing incidents in the Etzion Bloc region and in other places in Judea and Samaria.

Meanwhile, terror prisoners in Israeli jails told the Israel Prisons Service that they were cancelling the hunger strike they had announced Sunday, and would go back to eating their regular meals.

However, 1,100 prisoners at Megiddo Prison announced they would continue their hunger strike for two more days.
