      Getting Unstuck with Morning Pages

      Step by step to positive emotions.

      Attaining health and a sense of well being can be a creative adventure. The goal is to reach wellness by preparing nutritious meals for you and your family, moving enough to keep you energized and flexible, working at a satisfying career and maintaining important relationships while contemplating spiritual matters.
       

      Do you ever find yourself stuck not knowing what to do next? Are you looking for your life to reach limitless possibilities? Are you feeling that negative emotions might be keeping you at a standstill?


      There is this incredible tool called Morning Pages developed by Julia Cameron the author of "The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity" which can help you work through your “stuckness”. It is a journal that is written first thing in the morning while you are still half asleep.

      You begin by writing down any memories you may have of your dreams. At first there may be nothing, or very little you remember, but as you do this over and over you will build the dream memory muscle. As well, you will develop a deep, direct relationship with your inner self.

      The next step is to write 10 things you are grateful for from yesterday. Usually our minds focus on everything that is not going well, skipping over the fact that we are thankful for our safe and secure home, food and clothing, great friends, access to education, a job and freedom.

      Next comes the stream of consciousness writing. Write for at least a page, maybe two. Write whatever crosses your mind. Nothing is bad or trivial or silly. Write without judgement as nobody will be reading this. You will be amazed at what comes out of your pure mind. Write quickly or write slowly. Find a pace that works for you.
       

      Through morning pages you release much of the negative emotions or stresses that would have been blocking you from being open to all the possibilities of change, creativity and a wonderful life. It is great protector of self where you will use inner knowledge to access your true path to wellbeing.

      And remember you can choose your best life one step at a time.
