While President Barack Obama is likely still celebrating his victory over Republican rival Mitt Romney, Twitter set its sites on a possible Hillary Clinton bid for the White House in 2016.

#Hillary2016 was trending across the world on Twitter early Wednesday morning just a few minutes after Mitt Romney delivered his concession speech, The Hill reported.

The Secretary of State is regularly asked whether she might consider another bid for the presidency. To date she has replied in the negative, saying that she is ready to retire from politics and even that she does not plan to stay on in her current position in Obama's second administration.

"I have been on this high wire of national and international politics and leadership for 20 years," she told Marie Claire last month. "It has been an absolutely extraordinary personal honor and experience. But I really want to just have my own time back. I want to just be my own person. I'm looking forward to that."

Clinton unsuccessfully ran against Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary.
