Palestinian Authority (PA) security services confiscated weapons and documents belonging to Hamas' military wing in Judea and Samaria,  the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported Tuesday.

A security official told the news service that the preventive security force uncovered “a stash of documents, computers, CDs and ammunition belonging to the Al-Qassam Brigades” in an apartment in western Shchem (Nablus).

Fatah, which dominates the PA government located in parts of Judea and Samaria, released a statement saying that Hamas' government in Gaza had summoned its spokesman in the area. The PA said that it discovered the bunker in the region used by Hamas members last month.

Officials said that a long tunnel under Urif village, near Nablus, led to a room next to a small bunker that contained communications equipment.

“The Palestinian Center for Human Rights condemned the campaign and called on the Palestinian government in Ramallah to fully comply with the law and stop political arrests.” Ma’an reported.

Fatah leaders in Area A and B of Judea and Samaria are worried about an attempted Hamas takeover, along the lines of their takeover in Gaza.
