Former ISA Head to Resign From Bank Post, Run on Lapid List
Yaakov Perry has announced to TASE that he will be resigning from his post as chairman of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank to join Yair Lapid’s new center-left Yesh Atid party, for the forthcoming elections of the 19th Knesset.
A former director of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Perry will fill the defense slot in Yesh Atid's party list. Prior to joining Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, he served as chairman of mobile carrier Cellcom Israel Ltd. for eight years. He is also a consultant for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
Perry also served as the prime minister's coordinator for MIAs and POWs.
“He has lectured in Israel and in other countries on security, terrorism, radical Islam, the peace process with the Palestinians, and economic and technology issues. He published his memoirs about his service with the Israel Security Agency.” Globes reported.
