Bill Clinton Has 'No Earthly Idea' If Hillary Views Run in 2016
Former President Bill Clinton said he has “no earthly idea” whether his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make a second bid for the White House in 2016.
The former president told CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday that his wife, who lost to the Democratic primary race in 2008 to President Obama, has yet to decide what her political future has in store.
“We ought to give her a chance to organize her life and decide what she wants to do,” he said. “I just don't know.”
Clinton said his Hillary wants to “take some time off, kind of regroup [and] write a book.”
The former president said, however, that he would be the first to support Hillary, should she, once again, decide to run for president.
"She's the ablest, I know I'm biased, but I think she demonstrated as senator and as secretary of state that she has extraordinary ability," Clinton said.
“Whatever she does, I'm for her first, last, and always. She has extraordinary ability,” he added. “She'll push a rock up the hill as long as it takes to get up the hill.”
Hillary Clinton has said she will step down from her current role whether the president wins re-election on November 6 or not.
“She's done a fabulous job,” Clinton said. “I'm very proud of her.”
