Barely a year after the savage murder of Leiby Kletzky z”l, and the difficult year his parents endured as Leiby's murderer was tried and sentenced, the Kletzky family received some good news this week: On Friday morning, a healthy daughter was born to the family.

The difficult year faced by the Kletzkys was in sharp contrast to the joy that surrounded family members and friends at a kiddush held in honor of the daughter's birth on Shabbat morning, at a Boro Park synagogue. Hundreds of people attended to share with the family the much-needed good news.

Last month, a New York judge sentenced Levi Aron, convicted of murdering Leiby Kletzky, to 40 years in prison. The trial and sentencing of Aron proceeded rapidly, after several delays, due to a plea bargain, in which Aron admitted to kidnapping and second degree murder in the case. Leiby Kletzky was kidnapped and later killed by Aron as he walked home from school, for the first time.
