The Jewish community of France is looking forward to the arrival of Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman, due to arrive shortly to speak at a special “Days of Awe” convention.

Rabbi Shteinman heads a division of the famed Ponovezh Yeshiva, and is a leader of the hareidi-religious Degel HaTorah political faction in the United Torah Judaism (UTJ) party.

Born in 1912, Rabbi Shteinman is considered the current leader of the Lithuanian hareidi-religious Jewish world.

The event is aimed at raising Jewish awareness of the meaning of the Hebrew month of Tishrei, also known as the month of mercy and forgiveness, in advance of the High Holy Days.

Rabbi Shteinman is expected to depart Israel next Sunday morning, and to return to Israel by evening of the same day.

The private aircraft of Governor Rafael Harari was offered for the use of the rabbi, in his honor and in honor of the Torah.

In his speech, Rabbi hSteinman is expected to deliver words of support and strength to the locality, as well as discuss the virtue of the Hebrew month of Elul, and the sanctity and laws of the High Holy Days.

Rabbi Yosef Efrati, a follower of the late Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt'l, is expected to join Rabbi Shteinman, along with Rabbi Yaakov Hillel, head of the Kabbalistic Yeshivah Ahavat Shalom.
