A woman was crushed between two buses that collided in central Jerusalem on Monday evening.

United Hatzalah and other first responder services raced to the scene, where they gave the woman first aid after firefighters extracted her from between the buses.

She was reported to be conscious and in critical condition due to severe injuries sustained in the collision. She was subsequently rushed to the hospital.

Paramedics also treated the two bus drivers for injury at the scene.

United Hatzalah emergency medical services paramedic Ehud Shaked told Arutz Sheva, "When we got to the scene we saw a woman who had been crushed between the buses. For reasons that remain unknown, one of the buses backed into a number of other buses."

"The woman was trapped until the arrival of firefighters, whose heroic efforts and resourcefulness managed to extract her alive. She sustained several serious injuries and was evacuated to the hospital," Shaken said.

"We also treated other casualties whose condition was assessed as slightly injured, including two bus drivers," he added.
