The IDF no longer believes there is a terrorist on the loose on the southern border. Two or three terrorists were killed by IDF Golani forces Monday morning, after they infiltrated the border.

Routes 10 and 12 have been reopened for traffic.

The terrorists attacked Defense Ministry construction workers who were building the new security fence along the Egyptian border. They set off an explosive change that caused one of the workers' vehicles to overturn. The worker driving the car, Sa'ed Fachachte, was killed. He was a 36-year-old resident of Haifa, the HNN website reported.

A Kalashnikov rifle and hand grenades were found near the bodies of the terrorists.

The IDF was not sure at first whether two or three terrorists were killed, because when the IDF force fired at the terrorists, an explosive charge one of them was carrying exploded. As a result the terrorist and at least one other terrorist who was next to him were killed and their body parts scattered. It was hard to establish at first whether two or three terrorists had been killed. This detail still is not clear but the IDF is now satisfied there is no additional terrorist on the loose.
