The Hareidi Center for Technological Studies in Bnei Brak was graced last week with a visit by Australian Ambassador Andrea Faulkner.

The ambassador was presented with the gift of a special boat plaque that was created for her by students at the school.

The center, established in 1996 by Dr. Avraham Fuss z'l, was set up to provide a professional framework in which hareidi religious men could learn a trade while maintaining Talmudic studies.

It has since expanded to include women, and built branches in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, Ashdod, Modi'in Illit, Kiryat Sefer and Haifa. Last year, the school saw more than 1,600 students, comprised of 40 percent men and 60 percent women.

Among the courses offered are various types of computer programming maintenance, engineering and graphics, web design, travel agency,  architecture, interior design, multimedia, accounting and financial management, real estate brokerage, and an accredited electricians' course.
