Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced he wants to attend the London Olympic Games.

However, as of now British authorities have banned him from attending.

"I would like to be among to our young athletes at the 2012 Olympics but UK has a problem with this," Ahmadinejad said last last week during a meeting with Iranian athletes who had qualified for the Olympics.

Approximately 50 Iranian athletes have qualified to participate in the Olympics in several sports, including weight lifting, cycling, wrestling, shooting, track and field, and table tennis.

British officials confirmed that they are able to refuse entry to anyone who wants to attend the games if it is proved that the person is “unconducive to the public good.”

Last year, Iran objected to the logo of the 2012 Olympics, saying it vaguely resembled the word “Zion."

The Iranian leader attended the opening ceremony of Paralympic Games in 2008 in Beijing.
