Rav Sharon Tzabari, the rabbi of Gaza Division, told Arutz Sheva Wednesday that he strives to give soldiers serving in the Gaza area a feeling of family this Pesach. While the Seder dinners are up to the strictest Glatt and Mehadrin level of kashrut, they are intended equally for soldiers who are not Torah observant: "We unite everyone around the Seder table – like one united national family."
"For over a month, we have been working with all of the commanders in the battalions in the region," he explained. "We reached all of the most sensitive places with security details accompanying us, with the purpose of reaching the Mehadrin Glatt level."
Rav Tzabari said that he believes that there will not be a single soldier who fails to carry out the Pesach Seder in accordance with Halakha. "Every soldier receives a personal Seder kit, which includes grape juice, haroset and other Seder items – all inside a decorative box that includes a special Hagaddah with illustrations, riddles and exegesis."
The rabbi believes that the Seder will bring a feeling of unity to the soldiers. "We want everyone to feel at home, and out of an atmosphere of unity we will try to connect everyone to the mitzvah of Pesach."
