The Havruta school in Raanana, part of the Amit school network, held a special Purim party this week for disabled children.
Students at the school worked alongside volunteers and professional s from Friends for Health (Haverim L’Refuah), an organization that helps those with disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.
Entertainment included shows put on by circus jugglers and other artists. Children at the event were given popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs and other treats, and a bag of candy to take home.
The event was coordinated primarily by 9th-grade students at the school, who spent a month raising money, bought the candy for the party, and spent the day before and the day of the event organizing and preparing. During the party students focused on their guests’ needs, making sure all the visitors were enjoying the event.
