Adalah, the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that means “Justice” in Arabic, and openly supports the end of Israel as a Jewish state, is scheduled to participate in the upcoming international “Israel Apartheid Week.”  Suhad Bishara, Director of Adalah’s Land and Planning Rights Unit, is scheduled to speak on Tuesday, February 14, in Switzerland regarding “The policy of Apartheid in Israel: The new racist laws.” The event is being hosted by a Swiss group named “BDS Geneva.”

Israel Apartheid Week, which has become rampant and widespread on university campuses throughout the world, aims at imposing Boycotts, Divestments and Sanctions (BDS) against the State of Israel as a means of de-legitimizing and vilifying the Jewish state in the eyes of the international community.

The NGO Monitor reported that Adalah, which receives millions of shekels from foreign governments, “accuses Israel of ‘apartheid,’ ‘ethnic cleansing,’ ‘collective punishment,’, and ‘indiscriminate bombing that targets civilians.’ It defends Hamas’ use of firing rockets from residential areas, referring to attacks from Gaza as ‘when Palestinians resist Israel's human rights violations,’ accuses Israel of using ‘tear gas to kill and maim unarmed protesters,’ and states that Israel’s security barrier is ‘separating the West Bank into ghettoes.’ Adalah-NY is active in the BDS movement against Israel, urging international artists to boycott Israel and advocating financial sanctions.”

Gerald Steinberg, the President of the NGO Monitor, sent out a letter calling on the New Israel Fund to “immediately and publicly condemn and disassociate” from Adalah’s campaign which seeks “to eliminate the Jewish character of Israel and undermine Jewish sovereignty,”

The New Israel Fund, supported by George Soros, among others,  has a long history of anti-Israel activities and continues funding and supporting anti-Israel NGOs. Steinberg reiterated the “longstanding call that the NIF act responsibly and end all support for anti-Israel and anti-Zionist projects and organizations.”
