Emunah Convention to Center on Family

Ninth International Convention of the religious women's movement begins on Sunday.

The Ninth International Convention of the World Emunah Movement, "Vision and Values, Focusing on the Future", will take place from Sunday, January 29th to  Wednesday, February 1st.  Preceding the convention is a four day factfinding mission for the organization's young leadership. A gala dinner will be held on Monday night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem.

The conference will focus, among other subjects, on the religious Zionist family, challenges of the times, and education.

Participants at the convention will take part in various activities, including a visit to the Herzl Center at Har Herzl and screenings of movies about family life created at the Maaleh school for cinema and art.

There will also be tours of Emunah institutions: Emunah Neve Michael Children’s Village in Pardes Hanna, Frank & Eva Silverberg Daycare Center in Bet Shemesh, Emunah Neve Landy Children’s Village at Even Shmuel and the Emunah Sarah Herzog Children’s Center in Afula.

There are Emunah affiliates in Israel, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela.

Speakers at the convention will include former Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv and former Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Rav Yisrael Meir Lau, Minister of Science Prof. Daniel Hershkovitz, MKs Zevulun Orlev and Tzipi Hotovely, Mr. Natan Sharansky, Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Rabbanit Naomi Shapira, former Canadian Justice Minister Irwin Cotler, World Emunah President Naomi Leibler, World Emunah Chairperson Adv. Dina Hahn and Emunah Israel Chairperson Liora Minka.
