Residents of the Eshkol Regional Council district were ordered by IDF commanders to enter their homes and stay there Monday evening.

The order came following a cross-border infiltration by Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists from Gaza.

IDF soldiers spread out around the south to search for the terrorists.

The Gaza division of the IDF decided earlier in the day to raise the level of protection for communities along the Egyptian border following an increase in the terror alerts in the area.

Security components in the area's communities are to be strengthened, according to military sources. In addition, the towns of Bnei Netzarim and Kadesh Barnea will receive a surrounding inductive security fence.
