Iran Arrests 'US Spy,' Taunts US
Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said Saturday that its agents have arrested a person of Iranian origin on suspicion of spying for the United States, the Associated Press said. Iran's Foreign Ministry taunted the US Saturday, saying any espionage activity against his country would lead to humiliation.
In a statement broadcast on state TV, the ministry said that Iran’s secret services had previously identified the suspect at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan – the main base for American and other international forces outside Kabul.
The suspect was not identified by name.
In an interview for the Nasim news agency quoted by the Tehran Times, he added that "The recent downing of the U.S. spy drone and the arrest of the CIA-linked spy illustrate the supremacy of Iran’s intelligence apparatus over the enemies."
