Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who heads the Yisrael Beitenu faction, said Tuesday that reports he has threatened to bolt the coalition if outposts are razed are "mere commentary." He did not deny the reports, however.

He added that it "would not be wise" to place his party before "a dilemma it will have a hard time withstanding" by tearing down communities in Judea and Samaria.

In an interview with Voice of Israel government-run radio, Lieberman explained that evicting families from communities "will make life very difficult" for MKs from Yisrael Beitenu, and for their colleagues from Likud and the Jewish Home.

The "illegal" outposts were built by the state, by permission of the state and in the service of the state, he said. A solution can be found if both sides approach the problem in good faith, he added.

The Tel Aviv District Court has ruled that in the case of Rechelim, the state is indeed obligated to residents to draw up zoning plans and legalize their community.
