A failed suicide bomb terrorist, freed in the trade for Shalit, urges schoolchildren to succeed where she failed and become martyrs.
Gaza Arabs jubilantly welcomed 26-year-old Wafa al-Biss along with other terrorists freed by Israel for the return of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit last week.
Arutz Sheva has learned that unlike previous releases of terrorists, the latest group did not sign a document stating their promise not to return to terrorist attacks.
The document frequently has been mocked because dozens of previously freed terrorists have murdered more than 140 Israelis despite their signatures.
Last week, the terrorists refused to sign, and prison officials had to settle for a public reading of the document.
One of those not impressed is al-Biss, who was serving a 12-year sentence for trying to blow up herself and Israeli soldiers in 2004 at the Erez Crossing separating northern Gaza from the southwestern Negev.
Her failed attack was more astonishing because she tried to carry out the attack using her permit by Israel for continued treatment at Be’er Sheva’s Soroka Medical Center for burns suffered in an accident in her Gaza home. MK Dr. Arye Eldad (National Union), an expert in plastic surgery, treated her. The story was shown on Israeli Channel 2 TV:
After the attack failed, she said in a telephone interview, “I was about to push the button to become a martyr. An error prevented me from doing so.”
Since her release last week, she quickly urged the next generation to grow up and succeed where she failed.
“We shall continue on this path of struggle and resistance and martyrdom, and this is what I told my comrades in the cell and this is what I told the children and this is what I am going to keep telling anyone who will ask me about my feelings,” Associated Press reported.
However, she apparently has given up a career of martyrdom and wants to learn in university and continue to be treated for her burns.
She did not say if she still wants to be treated in an Israeli hospital.
