The third annual RockAmi festival will feature the Solomon brothers in their respective bands, the Moshav Band, Soulfarm and haMAKOR. Ben-Zion Solomon was one of the orginal residents of Moshav Mevo Modiin, the community founded by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. Over the years, his sons have formed their own musical acts, gaining popularity throughout the Jewish music world and to general audiences as well.

Jonty Zwebner, music manager and head of One Song World spoke to Israel National News about the event.
"This year we have moved the venue to a very central location in the heart of Jerusalem on Emek Refaim Street. We have decided to focus on three of the most popular original Jewish music bands. This way the crowd will have about 3.5 hours of solid popular music from their favorite groups."
Zwebner calls it Solomon Palooza. "The bands will play separately and join together for an unforgettable performance." Although the bands all originate from the Moshav Mevo Modiin, each one has developed its own distinct sound. The Moshav Band has a more Middle Eastern rock and folk flavor. SoulFarm leans toward bluegrass and country and haMAKOR, the newest of the bands, combines hard rock with some electronica elements. They also perform the music of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, sometimes in a traditional manner and sometimes in their own interpretation.
The RockAmi Concert will be held October 18 at Beit Yehudit (ICCY), 12 Emek Refaim Street in the German Colony neighborhood of Jerusalem. For more information visit http://town6.com/. To order tickets by phone, call 052-607-0412, 052-566-5600 or 077-216-4436.
