Workers who came to do construction in a building in Ramle on Sunday morning found the body of a man believed to be employed at one of the many foreign embassies in Tel Aviv. Police say the man is thought to have been murdered.

The man was later identified as Rodrigo Caspin Cordoba of Peru. Details of the case are under gag order.

Workers found Cordoba’s body after seeing blood in the stairwell.

Ramle has a relatively high rate of violent crime, with much of the violence taking place between rival Arab gangs and clans. Crime has been down in recent years following the institution of the “city without violence” program.
