In a conference held on Thursday in the Jewish community of Nofim in Shomron, a new movement called The Jewish Authority was established.

The conference was attended by such Land of Israel activists as Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpe, Prof. Hillel Weiss, Prof. Aryeh Stav, Dr. Gadi Eshel, and others. Arutz Sheva met with the participants in order to find out what exactly is The Jewish Authority.

“The Jewish Authority is the Jewish sources, the Jewish legal system and Jewish sovereignty,” explained Prof. Weiss. “This is an authority from G-d, so we are speaking from the bible, we are speaking from prophecy and from history.”

The Jewish Authority makes it very clear that even if the Israeli government decides to give up parts of Judea and Samaria to the Arabs, its members do not intend to be expelled from their homes as was the case in Gush Katif in 2005.

“We will not only survive here or be some refugees under the Arabs, we will be the masters of this place,” Prof. Weiss said. “The Jews got this land and we will keep this land even if the State of Israel decides to withdraw from it.”

“The Israeli government should do a re-evaluation and announce that it’s getting off the mistaken idea of a two-state solution,” said Rabbi Yeshayahu Hollander. “There’s no such thing as a two-state solution. Any honest Arab will tell you that he has not accepted the two-state solution. Some of them are willing to accept it as an interim solution before they finish up their whole plan to get us out of here.”

Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpe, the Chairman of the Our Land of Israel movement, told Arutz Sheva prior to the conference that the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria need to be prepared.

“Everyone knows that the prime minister is determined to destroy the communities in Samaria and Binyamin and this is what we need to prepare for,” he said.

Rabbi Wolpe said that if the Israeli government indeed pulls the army out of Judea and Samaria, there would be a real need to establish an independent Jewish police force.

“Judea and Samaria are the heart of the Land of Israel and no government has the power and the right to abandon Jews,” he said. “If these communities are abandoned we will have to establish a defense force to protect them just like in 1948.”
