As of 5 a.m. Sunday (noon in Israel), Hurricane Irene was approximately 15 miles south-southeast of Atlantic City, New Jersey and 155 miles south-southwest of New York City. It still packs hurricane-force winds of 75 miles an hour.
It has left at least 11peolple dead since it moved on land on the North Carolina Coast on Saturday, hugging the East Coast as it thundered through Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.
