IDF Kills Islamic Jihad Terrorist
IAF aircraft killed overnight Tuesday Ismail Zadi Ismail Asmer, a member of the Islamic Jihad terrorist group.
The IDF Spokesperson reported that Asmer’s killing was made possible in a joint operation between the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA). Asmer was attacked and killed in the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
According to the IDF Spokesperson’s statement, the IAF scored direct hits and all aircraft returned safely to their bases.
Asmer was involved in weapons smuggling and was planning to carry out a terror attack in the Sinai Peninsula, said the IDF.
“Recently, several attempts have been made by terrorists in the Gaza Strip to carry out attacks in the Sinai Peninsula, along the Israel-Egypt border,” said the IDF’s statement.
“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to act firmly and strongly against anyone who uses terrorism against Israel.”
