Hamas's leaders in Gaza are in hiding, for fear of being targeted by Israel. Hamas "prime minister" Ismail Haniyeh and senior official Mahmoud a-Zahar are among those whose movements are now limited, according to reports from Gaza.

The London based newspaper Al Quds al Arabi reported that Hamas's political and "military" leadership is stepping up security measures, and that senior officials have been told to limit their contact with journalists.
 
An IAF aircraft fired at missile launchers that were being prepared for an attack on Israel Sunday night. The IDF Spokesman said that hits on target were identified. 
 
Statements and body language from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and other top officials indicate that Israel is about to strike hard at Hamas. However, other assessments leaked to the press indicate that Israel may content itself with the retaliation already taken against commanders of the terror operation that killed eight Israelis in the Eilat region.
