Staff Sergeant Moshe Naftali, 22 years old from Ofra in Judea (Binyamin), was killed during a combined terrorist attack in southern Israel today, Thursday August 18th 2011 around noon.

Naftali was killed as a result of a terrorist attack on his force while racing to assist a civilian bus that was fired upon by terrorists. 
 
A firefight ensued between the force and the cell of terrorists as the soldiers approached, sustaining withering fire. 
 
Naftali's family was notified of his death before his identity was released to the public by the IDF censor.
 
"Moshe fought for Israel," his mother Shula said. "He believed in Israel and did everything from faith. He did everything with dedication and perseverence. We are proud of him."
 
Naftali was drafted after a year of pre-military studies in Keshet in the Golan Heights. Prior to that he attended a yeshivah high school in Beit El. He left parents, two brothers and four sisters.
 
According to miliatry sources Naftali was a member of the elite Golani Brigade.
 
His funeral will take place on Friday at 10 at Har Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem.
