Minister of Hasbara [Public Diplomacy] and Diaspora Yuli Edelstein met with 32 young Jews from outside Israel who are being primed to act as ambassadors for the Israeli cause in their countries.

The youth are in Israel on a special seminar sponsored by World ORT and the Ministry of Hasbara and Diaspora. The seminar is being held at Alexander Muss High School in Hod HaSharon.

The youths, aged 15-17, were selected from a larger group of candidates. They are taught Jewish and Israeli history as well as Jewish tradition. They are also empowered for leadership and initiative.

Minister Edelstein said that the program gives the participants the tools for being "leaders within their communities abroad and to serve as Israel's advocates abroad."

Robert Singer, Director of World ORT, said the leadership program "goes hand in hand with ORT's vision for strengthening the bonds between Israel and Jewish communities abroad."
