Hareidi Jews are joining the general campaign for immediate housing solutions.
A brief statement issued by Halamish – Hareidis for Judea and Samaria – said that “after a period of diplomatic procrastination on the matter of construction in the settlements, and since the hareidi representatives in the Knesset are not picking up the gauntlet of the struggle for construction in all areas of settlement, with no exception – Halamish announces that in the coming weeks, outposts will begin to be constructed next to every concentration of hareidis in Judea and Samaria.”
“There is no connection between this and the students’ struggle countrywide against rising [housing] prices,” said Halamish head Rav Yitzchak Friedman. “While that campaign is important in its own right, here we are talking first and foremost about our right to live here. After that we will talk about prices.
Halamish director Rav Mordechai Land said that the precise locations for the outposts have already been staked out.
The first recorded hareidi outpost was built in 2009.
