Residents of the Jewish community of Esh Kodesh, located near Shilo in Samaria, celebrated on Thursday the tenth anniversary of the community’s founding.

The community was named after Esh Kodesh Gilmore who was shot and killed on October 30, 2000, while on duty as a security guard at the National Insurance Institute’s east Jerusalem branch.

Gilmore was shot by an Arab terrorist who entered the branch and fired a number of shots at him and the other security guard in the building. Gilmore was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where he died almost immediately upon arrival. The other guard, Itai Suissa, was seriously wounded.

Arutz Sheva brings you photos from the celebrations on Thursday. All photos were taken by reporter Hillel Meir.
