Terrorists hit a paramilitary training center in northwestern Pakistan on Friday morning, killing at least 73 people. Sixty-six of the victims were police recruits who were on their way home after completing a training session. Another five of the dead have been identified as civilians.

More than 110 people were wounded. Local medical personnel said dozens are in serious condition.

Al-Qaeda in Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack, and said the bombings were carried out in revenge for the death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. United States forces killed Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, on May 2.

Friday's attack appears to have been carried out by two suicide bombers.

Al-Qaeda has carried out dozens of bombings and other attacks in Pakistan in recent years, as the army cracks down on terrorist bases. The attacks have primarily targeted the police and military.
