Mainstream media may finally be fed up with constant Hamas charges of IDF attacks that never happened.

One man, apparently a terrorist, and two others were wounded Saturday in an explosion that Hamas alleged was caused by IDF artillery fire from a tank near the Gaza security/separation fence.

Military spokesmen said that were no incidents of IDF firing during the day and added that the incident was “an internal Palestinian affair." The implication was that the explosion resulted from a "work accident” in which terrorists mishandled explosives used for manufacturing bombs.

After the media did not accept the Hamas version of the death, Arabs reported that the blast was caused by an unexploded tank shell that allegedly remained in the area for two years following the three-week Operation Cast Lead counterterrorist campaign in late 2008 and early 2009.

Another version claimed that the victim has been looking for scrap building materials when the supposed artillery shell was fired.

In a separate incident, Israel reported that a mortar shell was fired on the western Negev Friday, causing no injuries or property damage.
