Five of the six terrorists released from PA jail Thursday by Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas were recaptured by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during an overnight operation in Hevron. Principal among the Hevron-area Hamas members was Wael Bitar, suspected of involvement in the August 31 murder of four members of the Judean Jewish community of Beit Haggai.

He was also involved in a 2008 suicide bombing in Dimona in which one Israeli was killed and 10 were wounded. Bitar was arrested by the PA following a thwarted suicide attack that year, then released.

The IDF expressed regret for the death of a Hevron Arab in the house of one of the escapees and ordered an investigation of the shooting. The results are expected next week.

Lying about supposed IDF cruelty is an Arab weapon in the war against Israel. Earlier this week, claims that IDF tear gas caused the death of an Arab woman were found to be riddled with inconsistencies.
