A week after the wildfire in the Carmel, Israel National News TV speaks with representatives of JNF (The Jewish National Fund) who explain the complexity of the situation after the natural disaster.
In the following video, the JNF officials explain that first of all "nature will do its job on its own" as seedlings which were scattered naturally by some of the trees during the fire will be the beginning of a renewed forest. The officials add, however, that the option of actually replanting the trees will be taken in to account in case of need. At this point, JNF emphasizes that many areas in the Carmel will be blocked off in order to prevent visitors from walking on the soil and by doing so interfering with nature's attempts to rejuvenate itself on its own.
