The IDF and police arrested seven Arab terrorists and uncovered a large weapons cache Monday night in Hevron, where the Palestinian Authority says it is controlling terror and has complained about Israeli interference. All of the terrorists are being interrogated.

During searches inside their homes, forces discovered two M-16 assault rifles, an M-1 rifle, a pistol, two shotguns, two sniper rifles and a substantial amount of bullets, among other weapons.

The IDF operation comes as the PA is demanding full security control over Arab cities and villages, including many which are in “Area B,” where the PA government operates but where Israel oversees security.

Hevron recently has become a powder keg, home to terrorists who have murdered Israelis in ambushes and drive-by shootings.

Four people from the neighboring Jewish community of Beit Haggai were gunned down and killed several weeks ago. One of the victims was a woman in her ninth month of pregnancy.

Earlier this year, Hevron terrorists murdered an Israeli police officer and wounded two others in a drive–by shooting near Beit Haggai.
